A clinic name does not identify the treating clinician
International service pages describe contact and support, not necessarily the person who will perform a procedure. BECOME's English homepage, BANOBAGI's inquiry page, JK's international page and DA's international service page provide ways to ask. Use an official route to request the assigned clinician's current name and role for your case. A public team list may change, and a clinician who appears on a website is not automatically assigned to every consultation or operation.
Ask separately about the clinician who appears in marketing, the person who consults and the person scheduled to operate.
Verify current facts rather than promotional labels
Ask which authoritative Korean register or professional record can be used to check the clinician's current license and stated specialty. Match the name exactly, including spelling, and ask the clinic to explain any difference. The NHS surgery-abroad guidance tells travelers to discuss surgeon qualifications and language. The ASPS eyelid safety page lists risks that should be discussed with the person responsible for the operation. A title in a message or brochure should not replace current verification and a direct clinical discussion.
If the clinic supplies a translated credential summary, request the underlying Korean record or official verification route as well.
Send one assignment confirmation request
Ask for a plain written answer before paying the full amount.
Sample clinician confirmation
- Who will perform my in-person examination?
- Who will explain alternatives, risks and consent?
- Who is currently assigned to perform each planned procedure?
- Where can I verify that person's current license and specialty?
- Will any part be delegated, and to whom?
- What notice and refund or rescheduling choices apply if the assignment changes?
Repeat the check at the in-person consultation. If the name or plan differs, ask for time to review the change. Do not accept a blank space or team name where the consent form calls for an individual.
Treat a change of clinician as a new decision point
Schedules can change for legitimate reasons, but a replacement is not a clerical detail. Ask for the new clinician's role, verification source and explanation of the plan. Confirm whether the procedure, price, anesthesia, timing or follow-up changes as a result. If you do not have enough time to assess the replacement, ask about postponement or cancellation under the written terms you received. Keep the original assignment message, the change notice and your response. Check that the clinician named during booking matches the person named on the consent form.
Confirm the assignment again on the procedure day before sedation or final consent. Keep a dated copy of the confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
Is a clinic team page enough to verify my surgeon?
No. Confirm the individual assigned to your case and check current authoritative records.
What if the assigned clinician changes?
Request the new name, role, verification source, revised plan and your choices before giving fresh consent.
Should the interpreter answer medical questions?
An interpreter can support communication, but ask the treating clinician to give and confirm the medical explanation.
Sources and comparison method
Clinic information is attributed to each provider. NHS and ASPS sources explain general care and risks. They do not describe Korean legal requirements or clinic-specific outcomes.
