Open the consultation checklistWhy is the translation important?
In ASPS guidance, "brow lift" is also called a forehead lift and includes raising sagging brows. Korean clinic terms translated as "sub-brow lift" can refer to a different approach. ASPS · Brow lift
A published case series describes infraeyebrow blepharoplasty using an excision along the lower eyebrow edge to treat redundant upper-eyelid tissue. The paper also describes variations in operative design. Case series · Infraeyebrow blepharoplasty (2012)
Ask the treating surgeon to confirm the planned incision, tissue removal and intended effect on brow position.
What should you compare?
| Question | Forehead / brow lift | Sub-brow excision |
|---|---|---|
| What is the stated goal? | Ask how brow position and forehead tissues are involved. | Ask which excess skin is treated and what is left unchanged. |
| Where is the incision? | Request the proposed locations and scar discussion. | Request the precise incision below the brow and scar discussion. |
| What remains a separate issue? | Ask whether eyelid-opening or crease concerns need separate assessment. | Ask whether brow position or eyelid-opening concerns remain. |
| What are the risks? | Request procedure-specific risks and follow-up. | Request procedure-specific risks and follow-up. |
What should be written in your plan?
- The exact procedure name in both English and Korean.

What should you bring to the consultation?
Bring a clear description of what bothers you, when it began, and what you hope will change. If you have had previous surgery, request the operative report and share it through the clinic's secure channel. Tell the clinician about medicines, allergies, eye symptoms and other treatments.
If you are traveling, confirm who will explain consent and aftercare in a language you understand, where follow-up will happen, and what happens if you need care after returning home. NHS · Cosmetic surgery abroad
Questions & answers
Does sub-brow surgery always lift the brow itself?
Do not assume this from the name. Ask the surgeon to describe the tissue and position changes intended in your plan.
Can I choose by looking at before-and-after photos?
Photos can help explain preferences. They cannot establish your anatomy, eligibility or likely result.
