What does a method name leave out?

Korean clinic material may describe incisional, non-incisional or buried-suture methods. Before comparing the names, ask what the proposed procedure actually involves in your case: incisions, tissue handling, crease formation and follow-up.

Ask the surgeon to explain the trade-offs between methods and the possibility of later changes or revision.

How should a crease demonstration be described?

A manual crease demonstration can help you discuss a preferred shape. Ask the clinician to explain how it differs from the planned operation and the healed result.

Ask what the demonstration can help you discuss and what it cannot predict. Healing and individual anatomy mean a demonstrated shape is not a guarantee.

Discuss the proposed procedure and its alternatives.Questions for choosing a clinic

Which questions should you take?

  • Why is this method being proposed for me?
  • Which aspects of my preferred crease are feasible, and which are not?
  • Is eyelid opening a separate issue that needs assessment?
  • What scars, closure problems or eye symptoms should be discussed?
  • What are the alternatives, including not having surgery?

ASPS explains general eyelid-surgery incision and tissue-management principles. Ask the surgeon to explain how those principles apply to the proposed crease procedure. ASPS · Eyelid surgery procedure

What should you ask about risks?

Eyelid surgery can involve dry eyes, difficulty closing the eyes, bleeding, infection, scarring and changes in vision. The risks depend on the procedure and the person. ASPS · Eyelid surgery risks

Ask the surgeon to explain which risks apply to the proposed plan, what alternatives exist, and how follow-up is arranged.

Questions & answers

Can AI select the correct crease for me?

Choosing a crease requires a clinical assessment and a discussion of your goals and risks. Ask what any AI tool measures and what decisions remain with the clinician.

Does "non-incisional" mean there are no risks?

No. Ask about the actual procedure, complications and possibility of additional surgery rather than relying on the label.
