Clinic information and questions to ask
On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to read every column.
| Clinic and published location | Published information | Points to clarify |
|---|---|---|
| BANOBAGI Plastic Surgery 517 Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea Official location source | The official inquiry page provides direct English contact channels but no inspected complication-cost policy. Read the official information | Request the current policy rather than inferring coverage from the contact page. Ask: Please separate routine aftercare, emergency care and revision costs. |
| BECOME Plastic Surgery 2F, Suite 201, IS Tower, 101 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea (Yeoksam-dong) Official location source | The English homepage lists direct messaging and email routes. Read the official information | Use them to request written urgent-contact and financial-responsibility information. Ask: Which unplanned reviews or treatments are included, and which are separately charged? |
| DA Plastic Surgery 125 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea, DA Plastic Surgery Building Official location source | The international service page lists postoperative interpretation and airport pickup or drop-off. Read the official information | Clarify whether support extends to unplanned clinical care and whether fees apply. Ask: What urgent interpretation or transport support is available after discharge? |
| JK Plastic Surgery 835, Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea Official location source | The international page describes coordinator support through discharge, aftercare and follow-up. Read the official information | Coordinator support does not by itself state who pays for emergency or revision care. Ask: Who handles an urgent concern, and what costs require separate approval? |
Clinics are listed alphabetically. Sources checked 1 November 2026. Missing information should be confirmed with the clinic.
Separate the costs of unplanned care
A general promise of aftercare does not tell you who pays every bill. Separate scheduled clinic reviews, treatment for a suspected complication, emergency hospital care, medicines, revision surgery, accommodation changes, replacement flights and care in your home country. JK describes coordinator support through follow-up on its international page. DA lists postoperative interpretation and airport support on its international service page. BANOBAGI and BECOME publish direct English contact routes through their inquiry page and homepage. None of those service facts alone establishes financial responsibility for complications.
A free message reply, a scheduled check and paid treatment are different services, so ask for each one separately.
Ask the clinic and insurer different questions
The clinic can explain its clinical follow-up process and current terms. An insurer can explain exclusions, preauthorization, evidence and whether elective surgery abroad is covered at all. The NHS guidance on cosmetic surgery abroad specifically tells travelers to discuss complications, aftercare and insurance. For eyelid procedures, the ASPS safety page lists dry eye, closure difficulty, scarring, vision changes and possible revision. For lifting procedures, the ASPS facelift safety page lists bleeding, infection, healing, nerve and anesthesia risks. Discuss how complications would be treated and billed.
Ask whether insurance requires notice before treatment except in an emergency, and keep the answer with the policy wording.
Make a complication budget worksheet
Leave unconfirmed costs blank and record who will provide an estimate.
Record one line for each possible cost
- Routine review already included in the quote
- Unplanned clinic assessment in Korea
- Emergency department or hospital treatment
- Medicines, tests and wound care
- Corrective or revision procedure
- Extra hotel nights and flight changes
- Translation and local transport
- Home-country assessment after return
For each line, identify the payer as the clinic, insurer or patient, or mark it as unconfirmed. Add the source document and contact person. Keep an emergency reserve separate from the surgical price.
Record the currency and whether the figure is an estimate, limit or confirmed inclusion.
Arrange emergency contacts and clarify payment approvals
Ask for daytime and after-hours contact instructions, the nearest appropriate emergency route, and what information a local doctor should receive. Confirm whether the clinic must authorize a review or revision before any cost decision is made. Ask the insurer whether calling late could affect coverage. If the clinic describes transport or interpretation support, clarify whether that service applies to urgent care and whether it has a fee. Confirm these arrangements directly before travel. Save the answer offline so it remains accessible if your phone has no data.
Include a trusted travel companion in the contact plan if you consent, particularly for help communicating dates, medicines and the clinic's instructions during an urgent visit.
Frequently asked questions
Will travel insurance pay for a cosmetic-surgery complication?
Policies differ and may exclude elective procedures. Ask the insurer in writing before booking.
Does "aftercare included" cover revision surgery?
Not necessarily. Ask for a list of included services, time limits, exclusions and authorization steps.
Should I budget beyond the quoted operation price?
Yes. Consider unplanned medical care, medicines, hotel changes, transport and care after returning home.
Sources and comparison method
Clinic information is attributed to each provider. NHS and ASPS sources explain general care and risks. They do not describe Korean legal requirements or clinic-specific outcomes.
