Remote consultation is a planning step, not a final examination

You can contact these clinics before traveling. BRAUN offers online and video consultation on its out-of-town patient page. ID states that its English site offers online consultation, price inquiry and virtual plastic surgery on its consultation page. VIEW's quick consultation form asks for contact details, country code and a consultation area. BECOME publishes English-labeled messaging and email on its homepage. Check whether the reply comes from an administrator or a clinician, and which findings still require an in-person examination.

Ask whether the channel is intended for scheduling only or whether it accepts health history and procedure questions.

Mark every remote conclusion as confirmed or provisional

Separate confirmed arrangements from preliminary medical suggestions. A clinic may confirm that it received your inquiry, has a relevant procedure page or can reserve a consultation slot. A suggested operation, combined procedure, price estimate or recovery outline may still change after examination. The NHS travel guidance recommends discussing language, aftercare, complications and return travel. The ASPS eyelid safety guidance lists issues such as dry eye, closure difficulty and possible revision. A remote reply should say how those concerns will be screened on site rather than treating photographs as a diagnosis.

Label the reply with its date because staff, forms, quoted scope and available appointment times may change before travel.

Control what you send and why

Photos can help a clinic understand your question, but they are identifiable health-related material. Read the privacy notice and ask where files are stored, who can access them and how deletion can be requested. Avoid adding unrelated documents simply because a form permits uploads.

A practical upload log

  • File name and date taken
  • Front, upward gaze, downward gaze or closed-eye view requested
  • Clinic page or staff member that requested it
  • Purpose stated for the image
  • Date sent and deletion request route

Use neutral lighting and do not edit the image. Tell the clinic if symptoms, prior surgery or current medication cannot be represented in a photograph.

Ask who reviewed the material before relying on the reply

A useful response names the responder's role and separates administrative information from a medical opinion. Ask whether a clinician reviewed the images, whether the quoted procedure is only a starting point and which findings require in-person assessment. Also ask what happens if the on-site plan differs: can you pause, receive a revised written quote and reconsider without same-day pressure? Keep the original message, attachments and later revision in one folder. Use that record to check what changed and why.

If the responder cannot identify the reviewer, keep the information as administrative guidance rather than a clinical conclusion.

Frequently asked questions

Can a clinic confirm my operation from photos alone?

Treat any remote suggestion as provisional. Ask what examination findings could change the procedure or price.

Should I send old operative records?

Send relevant records only through an official route after confirming why they are needed and how they will be handled.

Is a video consultation the same as meeting the surgeon?

Not necessarily. Ask who attends, whether a clinician reviews the case and what remains for the on-site examination.

Sources and comparison method

Clinic information is attributed to each provider. NHS and ASPS sources explain general care and risks. They do not describe Korean legal requirements or clinic-specific outcomes.
